Preservation Method of Beryllium Copper Alloy

When storing after pressing, if there is oil remaining on the parts during pressing, the parts will be discolored. Therefore, the parts must be degreased and cleaned, and then stored in a very dry environment.

For storage, the most ideal environment is a state where there is no air contact (such as vacuum packaging, etc.). The storage environment is expected to be stored at room temperature and humidity (30°C·60%RH or less). Do not store in an environment of high temperature and humidity (40°C·80%RH or more). In addition, take care not to be contaminated by contact with corrosive gases.

The following is a custody example of a company in Japan:

Temperature management: set value of heating and cooling equipment Summer=27℃ Winter=18℃

Humidity management: set value of dehumidifier Summer = 30% Winter = 50%

However, even in such an environment, the product will be more or less oxidized, so the product must be degreasing & pickling to remove the oxide film before electroplating.
